In 1948, it was officially named King George V School to commemorate the British monarch King George V. Located in Ho Man Tin, Kowloon City District, Hong Kong, the campus covers over 41,000 square meters, making it one of the oldest schools in the English Schools Foundation. The original campus was donated by Sir Robert Hotung and features typical Victorian architectural style, now listed as a Hong Kong statutory monument. The main building, Peel Block, built in 1935, was inaugurated by the then Governor of Hong Kong and currently serves as the school's administrative center.
